July 25, 2012 - The first prostate cancer patient enrolled in a Phase III clinical trial and began receiving treatment on the investigational therapeutic agent Debio 8206. The study, conducted in the Republic of South Africa, will involve 120 patients with advanced prostate disease.
“It’s an important step forward that the Republic of South Africa is joining the world community of high-profile clinical research for treatment-resistant prostate cancer patients, ” said Jonathan Simons, MD, President and CEO of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. “As the Movember movement continues to grow in South Africa, the world can expect more innovative research efforts to be produced from this region.”
